Meeting was held Tuesday April 2, 2019 in the High School Band Room at 7 pm.
The Norwalk Music Booster’s leadership team: Darcy Hosier - Norwalk Music Boosters President, JB Silvers - Treasurer and Mary Lepley - Secretary.
Election of 2019/2020 Music Boosters Leadership: Congratulations to the following individuals: Julie Wigg – President, JB Silvers – Treasurer, Mary Lepley – Secretary
Treasurer Report: JB Silvers reported quarterly earnings through the AmazonSmiles program and gifts through the patron program. SCIBA concession stands also brought in a sizable amount this year.
Teacher Reports
Mrs. Menke: Reported that they are looking for approval for Lakewood 5th grade band small percussion list.
Mr. Heltman: Reported on a recent great Jazz band competition. Jazz night will be held April 26th. Spring concerts are upcoming; first week of May for 6-12th grades.
Mrs. Nielsen: Reported that 11- 6th grade students will travel to Indianola to perform for Honor Choir. Drama practices are ongoing in the morning and starting choreography soon. Concerts for 6th grade on May 2nd and the Musical will be May 14th.
Fundraising:
Rhonda Huegerich presented an opportunity to Booster members about having Tonic Sol Fa which is a cappella quartet, host a fundraiser. It was stated that 20% from sales would go to the Music Boosters program with little overhead costs associated. Future dates are being looked at with more information to follow.
Volunteering:
If you have a child in K-12 Norwalk Music, you are already a Music Booster. Please join us at our next meeting on January 3, 2019 at the High School Band Room at 7pm.
